Amy Lodes

Amy Lodes, Registered Dietitian

I became a Registered Dietitian in 2011 after completing my degree in Dietetics at Iowa
State University and Dietetic Internship. I competed my Master of Family Consumer
Science from Iowa State University in 2019 and in 2025 my Certificate of Training in
Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy. Because I am dedicated to trying to learn
all the things all the time, I continue to do trainings and reading books on nutrition.
Prior to private practice I worked as a retail dietitian and loved supporting people with
practical recommendations in the grocery store. I worked with a variety of people and
medical conditions. Since starting private practice 3 years ago I have focused on
supporting women in their journey to better health through nutrition and lifestyle
interventions to support their unique needs.

Now accepting telehealth patients!

What My Support Looks Like

Nutrition and health are so nuanced. The internet is scream with absolutes: “Eat this, don’t eat this” and “Never do this, always do that”. I prioritize working with each person’s unique health and nutrition needs. There is no one size fits all approach. During our first appointment we will dive into your health history, your symptoms, your likes and dislikes, your beliefs about food. All the things to really get to know you and how I can help guide you. I may recommend optional labs or testing based on your symptoms to help personalize your interventions. Together we will develop the next best steps for YOU to start feeling your best. We will then continue to check in, adjust, and change to help you continue to optimize your health.

What my support does not look like: “Here is a specific diet, with specific macros, and I expect you to follow it exactly.” I focus on flexible, sustainable diet changes that you want. There is no weigh-ins or discussion of weight, unless you specifically want to talk about it. Improving your energy, reducing chronic symptoms, and supporting your mental health are my focus and top priorities.

In My Free Time You Can Find Me…

I love being outside either going for walks, working in the garden, or sitting on the porch listening to the birds. When everything feels a little chaotic standing barefoot on the ground under the trees solves all. I love adventuring with my 6-year-old twins and teaching them the importance of good food, spending time in nature, and good books. You will always find me with a continuous stack of books I am reading and an audiobook I am listening to. I also love traveling, talking about traveling, researching traveling, and annoying my husband with a million new travel ideas 🙂 And in true dietitian fashion I love trying new recipes as well as whipping up family favorites on repeat.
