Megan Smith, t-LMHC
(She/Her/Hers)
Modalities: CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, Person-Centered Counseling
I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand View University in May 2026. I completed my clinical training at a mental health agency where I worked with children, teens, and adults navigating a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges. I’m drawn to therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and person-centered counseling and psychoeducation.
My own experiences navigating polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and infertility have shaped my passion for women’s health and inspired me to support others walking similar paths. I will soon begin specialized training in perinatal mood disorders through Postpartum Support International (PSI), and I’m committed to continuing my growth in women’s wellness, trauma-informed care, and whole-person healing.

What My Support Looks Like
As a warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed clinician, I strive to create a non-judgmental space where you can show up authentically and feel truly seen. I believe therapy works best when it is client-centered and grounded in partnership. We will create goals together that reflect your needs, your strengths, and your lived experiences.
I am passionate about supporting women through the many transitions and complexities of life, including infertility, hormonal challenges, trauma (PTSD), anxiety, OCD, ADHD, identity shifts, and emotional overwhelm. I also enjoy working with children, teens, adults, and couples, and I value the opportunity to help clients understand themselves in a deeper, more compassionate way.
Collaboration is an important part of how I practice. Bloom brings together therapists, medical providers, and psychological testing services under one roof, and I believe that working together across disciplines helps clients receive the most comprehensive and personalized care possible.
My approach blends evidence-based strategies with empowering, whole-person care. Whether we are exploring patterns, building coping skills, or uncovering the root of long-standing struggles, my goal is to help you feel grounded, capable, and connected to your own resilience. I believe healing is not only possible, but something you deserve, and you do not have to do it alone.
In My Free Time You Can Find Me…
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and friends. I love reading, learning new things, tending to my summer garden, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs. These moments of connection, curiosity, and fresh air help me stay grounded and bring balance to my life.
