Breanne Bitz, LISW
(She/Her/Hers)
Modalities: ART, Maternal Mental Health, Strengths-Based Care
I graduated from the University of Iowa with my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work. During my master’s program, I worked with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, supporting families across Iowa, and served as a medical social worker on the mother-baby floor and in the NICU. There, I discovered my passion for supporting women and families during the transformative stages of pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood.
Since earning my master’s degree, I’ve provided therapy in school settings, on college campuses, and in private practice, working with kids and adults. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the unique challenges individuals face at different stages of life. I’m currently in the process of pursuing specialized training in maternal mental health, as I’m deeply committed to supporting women through the emotional and psychological challenges of motherhood and beyond. I hold additional training in accelerated resolution therapy (ART).

What My Support Looks Like
My favorite thing about showing up authentically in the world—and in therapy—is showing that therapists are humans, too. I believe in the power of therapy to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your true self and develop a deeper understanding of who you are. My approach is rooted in authenticity, compassion, and collaboration, and I’m dedicated to offering individualized care that honors your unique background and journey.
I have a particular interest in supporting women through life transitions, including the challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood. Together, we’ll uncover themes and patterns that may be influencing your life, build resilience, and create meaningful change. Using a strengths-based perspective, I’ll help you leverage your unique qualities and resources, empowering you to thrive both inside and outside of therapy.
To me, therapy is not just about alleviating symptoms. It’s a space to grow and thrive. I’ll support you in exploring what living authentically means for you, helping you make choices that align with your values.
In My Free Time You Can Find Me…
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my husband and son, whether we’re camping, traveling to national parks, or going for walks. After moving back to Des Moines from Arizona, I’ve been enjoying re-exploring the city and all it has to offer. These moments of connection and adventure help me recharge and bring a sense of balance to my life.
