Education & Experience
I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 15 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa and completed my Master of Science in Nursing at Eastern Kentucky University in 2018, specializing in psychiatric mental health care. I have additional training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through Postpartum Support International (PSI).
I began my career in mental health nursing in 2008 and have since worked across a wide range of settings, including a state mental health institute, Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) teams, inpatient units, and outpatient clinics. This diverse background allows me to deliver comprehensive, individualized care to both adults and children with a variety of mental health conditions.
What My Support Looks Like
I take a collaborative, down-to-earth approach to mental health care, focused on meeting each individual where they are. I believe that feeling heard and understood is the foundation of effective treatment, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can openly share their experiences and concerns.
I work closely with individuals to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their goals and values. Active participation in the treatment process is encouraged, and I support informed decision-making through education, medication management when appropriate, lifestyle adjustments, and other evidence-based interventions. My goal is to help individuals feel supported, empowered, and confident as they move toward improved mental wellness.
In My Free Time
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time with my family. We are currently tackling the 1,000 Hours Outside challenge and love exploring new parks and camping together. I am passionate about encouraging children to play outside and experience the mental and physical health benefits of time in nature. In my downtime, I also enjoy live music, thrifting, reading, and keeping up with true crime podcasts.
Working with Megan
Megan may be a good fit if you are:
- seeking care for depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, PTSD, ADHD, schizophrenia, and other psychiatric conditions; or
- seeking care for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders
Megan offers children ages 5 and older. Pediatric patients are required to engage in therapy and undergo a collaborative review with the provider to ensure medication appropriateness. She also does not see clients over the age of 65.

Education & Experience
I am a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. I received my Associate of Science in Nursing from Iowa Central Community College in 2015. While working as a full-time emergency department registered nurse, I achieved my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Upper Iowa University in 2016. I continued my nursing experience at a Level II Trauma Center in the Neuro-Trauma ICU. In 2021, just 6 weeks before my son was born, I graduated from Purdue University Global with my Master’s in Science of Nursing with a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner focus. As an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, I have worked in urgent care clinics, emergency departments, and family medicine clinics. During my training as a nurse practitioner student, I studied under a women’s health nurse practitioner who practiced integrative medicine. I am always learning and currently focusing my studies on integrative and complementary therapies for women’s health.
What My Support Looks Like
I am excited to be a part of the Bloom Women’s Wellness team, where I can personalize my approach to best help each person I meet. I appreciate the time I get to know my patients on a deeper level and make sure they feel comfortable and heard. I feel like many people do not feel confident in their healthcare because they don’t get full explanations, have time to ask questions, and have timely and complete follow-up care. I want to dispel the answer being “That’s normal and part of being a woman” or “Just try losing some weight.” I take an easy-going, educational, informative, personalized approach to help each person accomplish their goals. My desire is to support women, moms, birth parents, and anyone looking for holistic care. Every person is welcome, safe, and supported in our office. I’m here to give you the information and tools to make the best decision for you. If you would prefer to approach your concerns with or without the use of pharmaceuticals and procedures available or stand somewhere in the middle, I am here to help you. I follow evidence-based guidelines and work to meet you where you are in your health journey to create a plan that helps support you best.
In My Free Time
My husband and I have a small son who keeps us busy. As a family, we like to spend time outdoors, watch wildlife, and go to the zoo. When I get free time, I enjoy reading, shopping at Target, and binge-watching reality TV and medical dramas. I am an endless learner and enjoy going to continuing education conferences. My ideal vacation would be on a beach or a cruise in the Caribbean.
